Improving animal welfare standards is important to Nando’s and our UK and Ireland business already uses cage-free eggs.
As part of this strategy, we are working towards a global strategy to source cage-free eggs across our global business. Currently, cage-free eggs are not available in all markets in which Nando’s operates but we are committed to achieve the goal of 100% cage-free eggs used as both whole and as an ingredient within these markets by 2030.
We believe that by both joining the global drive to source cage-free eggs and working closely with our suppliers we will be able to move to 100% cage-free eggs (including whole eggs and eggs as an ingredient) in New Zealand and Australia by 2023; North America and South Africa by 2025; and Malaysia and Singapore by 2027.
